I traveled in Chile during the winter of 2006-2007 (it was summer down in the southern hemisphere at the time). I hiked most of the Torres del Paine Circuit and "W" trails in Patagonia. The weather even during the summer months in Torres del Paine was at times frightening. Be prepared for 50+ mph winds, lots of rain and clouds, and snow.
