The John Muir Trail is a quintessential American backpacking experience. The landscapes are breathtaking, but it is the weather in the Sierra Nevada that distinguishes this trail from all others: its always sunny. I thru hiked the trail from North to South starting early in the morning on july 27th, 2008 and ending at noon on August 11th, 2008. It took roughly 15 days (with 1 zero day at VVR) which was just about perfect for me.
