I traveled in Chile during the winter of 2006-2007 (it was summer down in the southern hemisphere at the time). I hiked most of the Torres del Paine Circuit and "W" trails in Patagonia. The weather even during the summer months in Torres del Paine was at times frightening. Be prepared for 50+ mph winds, lots of rain and clouds, and snow during the summer months.

Chile is easily one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. In addition to a Torres del Paine photo gallery, there are galleries for Puerto Octay and Hornopiren - both in the Lakes District. These photos have not be geotagged.
